Ajamu White Sentenced to 27 Years in Prison for Stealing from Check Cashing Store at Gunpoint

On November 25, 2013, Ajamu White was sentenced to 27 years in state prison and five years of post-release supervision for robbing a check-cashing store in Lower Manhattan of nearly $150,000 in cash and $4,000 in unused MetroCards. As proven at trial, the defendant pushed his way into the store as two employees were opening it for business, holding a gun to one employee’s head and forcing her to unlock two doors and a safe.
